A Novel Model Predictive Direct Torque Control Method for Improving Steady-State Performance of the Synchronous Reluctance Motor

Due to the particularity of synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) structure, a novel high-performance model predictive torque control (MPTC) method was proposed reduce high ripple and improve performance efficiency motor. First, precise parameters SynRM reflecting magnetic saturation characteristics were calculated using finite element analysis (FEA) data, flux linkage maximum per ampere (MTPA) trajectory derived by considering characteristics. Then, an MPTC with duty cycle established, MTPA stored in look-up table introduced into model, duration active voltage vector one evaluating error. Finally, experimental platform based on prototype built, various comparison experiments carried out for method. The results show that could motor, significantly improved under working conditions, its correctness effectiveness verified.
